Together with my assistent, professor Christian Muschwitz PhD, I established the raumkom-Institute for Regional Development and Communication in 2007. We do research, planning  and consulting projects for local, regional and national government institutions and transport agencies. We are a small team of 7 employees who all are enthusiastic about innovative concepts for a sustainable life and economy.  

Spatial Development
We are active on all administrative levels and in the different sectors like transport, retail, demography and environmental studies. Some of our studies focus on more scientific questions, like social science approaches on better understanding of decision making processes in politics and administration. Some studies concentrate more on spatial and transport planning. We have been involved several times in pilot projects with innovative organisation models in the field of local and regional public transport, combined use of buses for either passenger or freight transport, decentralized small scale retail locations and bicycle planning and campaigning strategies. And we are active in all sectors of urban development strategies.

Communication
Communication of new concepts and ideas is a central field of our professional profile. We develop concepts for marketing strategies for either public transport, cycling and walking and active use of public space. We develop teaching concepts for people who want to be more successful in communication, marketing and negotiating the need of sustainable life. We are active in improving local discussion processes.
